Thanking our donors

Philanthropic support of RMIT is instrumental in helping the University to achieve our vision to become a leading global university of technology.

In thanks and recognition of all those who supported the University in 2009, we have created a publication which thanks our donors and also celebrates the diverse range of support that the University receives. No matter how small or large, each gift makes a difference to our students and the University. This support enables the University to provide a range of benefits and services for students including scholarships, participation in high impact community projects, and innovative research opportunities.

In addition, this publication also incorporates The RMIT University Foundation report for 2009. The Foundation is the custodian and good steward of funds that are donated, endowed or bequested to the University. Despite the current economic climate and the challenges that it presents, The Foundation’s Trustees have successfully managed to make an increased distribution of funds over each of the last three years. In the minds of the Trustees there has never been a more important time to support the students.

RMIT University is what it is today because for more than 120 years it has been the beneficiary of countless deeds of generosity. To celebrate RMIT's 120 year anniversary in 2007, the university also produced a publication called 120 years of Philanthropic Support (PDF 9.35MB) which outlines much of its history and philanthropic support.

We hope you appreciate the diverse stories captured in these publications as they form part of RMIT's commitment to recognising and thanking our supporters.
