Guides
The Learning and Teaching Unit are developing a series of guides to assist staff at RMIT to plan their teaching, implement new approaches, develop assessment strategies and review courses/programs.
Two guides are currently available:
-
Practical guide to teaching
This guide highlights the approaches we take to learning and teaching at RMIT, and provides information and tips that can enhance your teaching.
The focus of the guide is very much on the practical aspects of how teaching is conducted at RMIT: what we do, and how we do it. It will help you to plan and implement quality student learning, and to develop your capabilities as teacher.
-
Quick guide for sessional staff
This guide provides quick access to a selection of learning and teaching topics commonly dealt with by sessional staff members, and links to induction information, professional development opportunities and portfolio-specific administrative processes.
-
Guide to teaching with technology
This guide provides advice and information on many technologies used for teaching at RMIT – in classrooms, lecture theatres, laboratories, studios and online – and illustrates them with examples and case studies from RMIT staff.
Call for contributions
These guides have been designed as an ongoing 'work in progress'. Learning and teaching practices are continually changing, and it is intended that the topics in these guides will be regularly updated to reflect this.
If you would like to suggest a new guide, recommend changes or edits, contribute resources or share successful aspects of your teaching practice, please contact LTwebsite@rmit.edu.au.
